Dupuis Design was tasked with transforming a traditionally dark and ornate home into a stark, contemporary museum-style residence, perfectly showcasing the clients' art collection. The original style, characterized by yellow, brown, wrought iron, and crème tones, was completely reimagined into a vibrant and minimalist space. With a keen eye for clean design, Peggy infused the home with fun, bright colors and iconic French brand furniture, seamlessly integrating the clients' passion for Japanese culture and art. This included their cherished collection of superflat style artwork from Murakami, anime art, and vintage posters, creating a unique and dynamic living environment.
The heart of the transformation lies in the kitchen and living spaces. The kitchen, now a sleek and modern haven, features white slab doors and stainless steel appliances. Designed with efficiency and organization in mind, the kitchen's minimalist aesthetic does not compromise functionality, offering ample storage and a well-thought-out working pattern. In the living room, Peggy introduced a bold and dramatic design, combining royal blue accents with vibrant Murakami artwork and contrasting gray and yellow Ligne Roset furniture. The centerpiece, a striking geometric pattern porcelain mantle, adds an eye-catching element, enhancing the room's dynamic and vibrant atmosphere.
Throughout the home, Peggy paid meticulous attention to every detail. The teenage daughter’s bedroom, with its striking red iconic egg chair and vibrant Murakami print, exudes artistic flair. The younger daughter's serene oasis features a calming teal color scheme and a Murakami-inspired rug, complemented by the iconic ball chair by Eero Aarnio. The transformation continues into the daughter's bathroom, where a clean all-white aesthetic is enhanced by a captivating wave-patterned porcelain backdrop. The entry staircase now boasts frameless glass guardrails and light oak treads, framed by a custom pop art wallpaper inspired by the Reims Cathedral vitrail.
Each space, from the inviting dining room with warm wood tones and sleek gray chairs to the stunning powder room with Fornasetti Nuvolette wallpaper and an organic pebble rock sink, reflects Peggy's commitment to creating unique and captivating designs. This comprehensive redesign not only modernized the home but also celebrated the clients' love for art and culture, resulting in a harmonious and sophisticated living space.
